Sneak Peek:
Art Teams for Vampire: The Requiem and World of Darkness

We’ve kept a pretty tight lid on the details of Vampire: The Requiem and the all-new World of Darkness, but we thought you’d like to get a peak at some of the killer art being lined up for our all-new game and its companion book, the World of Darkness Rulebook. We asked the art directors of the two books to say a few words and, well, show us some of the goods.

Pauline Benney is art directing Vampire: The Requiem. You may know Pauline from her stint as art director for Hunter: The Reckoning and Demon: The Fallen. You’ll most definitely thank her for the all-star line up of artists she has working on the main Vampire book, namely Brom, Alex Maleev, Tim Bradstreet, Marko Djurdjevic, Cathy Wilkins, Jean-Sebastien Rossbach, Andrew Trabbold, Mattias Snygg. Travis Ingram, Conan H. Venus and Jeff Rebner.

The full-page pieces in Vampire come from Alex Maleev, whom you may know from his current work on Marvel’s Daredevil comic book. “I love Alex’s work,” Pauline told us. “He really is perfect for Vampire, no one captures mood quite like he does. And he’s just one part of a real powerhouse of an art team.”

Here, check out a couple of Alex Maleev pieces and see what she means:

The World of Darkness Rulebook, which is the base rulebook for all games in the new WoD, fell to none other than Rich Thomas, White Wolf’s VP of Production. Rich is a longtime veteran of the Wolf and was the AD for Vampire: The Masquerade for most of its 13 years. “The twin launch of Vampire: The Requiem and the World of Darkness Rulebook is the biggest project in the company’s history,” Rich told us. “So both Pauline and I wanted to work with the best artists in the business. We looked for artists that not only did beautiful work but who could really capture the feel of the World of Darkness.”

The list of artists for the World of Darkness Rulebook certainly reflects Rich’s determination to do just that. They include Tim Bradstreet, Jason Manley, Mike Kaluta, Thom Ang, Greg Ruth, Sam Araya, Christopher Shy, Joshua Timbrook, Mark Nelson and Jeremy Jarvis.

Tim Bradstreet, whose work appears in both books, will of course be very familiar to longtime White Wolf fans. We asked Rich what it was like to reunite with Tim. “Both Pauline and I are absolutely thrilled to be working with Tim again ,” he said. “We think the fans are going to be blown away by his new illustrations in both the World of Darkness Rulebook and, of course, Vampire.”

But don’t take his word for it, check out one of his pieces right here:
